Goodbye 2016 . . . Hello 2017

Happy New Year! 2017 is here and I am so excited for it.
I think for a lot of people 2016 wasn't the best year. For me, the year flew by faster than I've ever expereinced and although nothing life changing happened, 2016 had so many highlights.
I started the year loving the gym, going out with the girls (a lot) and working a second job on the weekend to fund my social life, I was in good shape, was seeing a guy who treated me like the princess I am (ahem) - Spoiling me with spa trips and taking me to watch Scotland v Wales in the 6 nations which I absolutely loved! A couple months in, I realised I'm far too selfish for relationships at this stage in my life so moved on and focussed on myself again. March was the beginning of my blog & Youtube channel, I would later purchase my Macbook to continue to work on these. I had 2 wonderful holiday's abroad; celebrating turning 23 in the mountains skiing with my family, and enjoyed a Mediterranean paradise in Kos in May with one of my best friends. By July I had completed & blogged a #30DAYCHALLENGE for the month of June, where I tried something new everyday for 30 days; rather a lot of hard work but I felt very accomplished afterwards!
I was also asked to do my first ever PR blog post for Farfetch, just 3 months in to writing my blog which was so exciting - you can read it here! I managed to go home to Scotland for a week and overall this year I've travelled home more than usual which has been really lovely. I had the best Summer with my friends in Cheltenham. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and early Friday finishes from work, which made all the difference! I learnt to wakeboard with the girls from work and went surfing in Wales, played tennis and partied most weekends. I attended a family christening, a friends wedding and high fived Greig Laidlaw (Actual highlight of my summer!)
I trained for and ran my first ever half marathon (in less than 2 hours) and began training for the 2017 London Marathon! The hockey season started again and my sister came to visit in the Autumn which was beautifully scenic as always. Finally December was as festive as ever with parties and meals out with friends and colleagues. I went home to see all the family and had another brilliant Christmas day with our best friends. I've loved this year and feel very accomplished. I think it's sometimes easy to think you haven't done a lot until you actually look back and give yourself credit for all the good things you've achieved and the lessons learnt! so if you haven't already, I suggest you go through your camera roll or facebook/insta and just remind yourself how good 2016 actually was! Thank you to everyone who made time to see me this year and for all the love, friendship and laughter, I've had a ball - here's my 2016 in pictures;

I was planning on putting my plans for 2017 and New Years Resolutions in this post but I think, like the new year, it needs it's own fresh post so look out for that on the blog soon!

I'd also just like to thank you all for supporting and reading my blog this year, it's been so motivating to see the views go up.
A few blog milestones I've hit this year are; 6,300 blog views, 7 youtube videos edited and uploaded (yes I taught myself how to edit this year!) 825 views on my channel, and 300 followers on my blog Instagram.
Please do pop over to these and follow/subscribe - that would be amazing!

All the best for the new year everyone!
I can't wait to see what 2017 holds - I'll be sure to blog it all!
L x
