Loyalty Schemes - What's New & What's for You!?

In today's persistent discount culture, customer's loyalty is growing even more valuable to retailers. Great news for us savvy shopaholics - as this has resulted in loyalty scheme rewards being better than ever before!
Last month saw global Etailer, ASOS, launch their first ever loyalty app; ASOS A-list and if you are an ASOS girl or guy you absolutely need it in your life! Check out the 1 min video below on how to earn rewards!;
So here are the facts -

  • 5 points for every £1 spent
  • 500 points earns you a £5 voucher (valid for 6 months)
  • Earning points take you to levels.
  • Levels unlock new exciting rewards & benefits
  • Level 1 - (400 points): Two double-points days, 15% off on your birthday, one free next day delivery, plus additional competitions & offers.
  • Level 2 - (1000 points): All of the benefits from level 1, plus; two further double-points days, another free next day delivery, & advance warning of upcoming sales!
  • Level 3 - (3,000 points): Four triple-points days, three free next day deliveries, 20% off on your birthday & 24 hour early access to Sales - say goodbye to 'out of stock' disappointment on sale days girls!

Okay so the next retailer is the big 'quality' player on the high street, of course it's; Marks & Spencer. The SPARKS card was launched last October and it's quickly becoming as popular as having a Tesco Clubcard! You earn points for EVERYTHING you buy in store or online and with such a vast selection of products from food to underwear, earning points can be pretty easy!

So why do you need one;
  • You'll earn 10 Sparks (points) every time you shop - Regardless of what you spend!
  • 10 Sparks earned for every £1 spent
  • If you write a review on the M&S website on a product you have purchased you'll get 25 Sparks!
  • 50 Sparks if you donate to the 'Shwopping scheme' - Lets be honest we all have clothes we don't wear any longer and are just taking up precious space!
  • So what do all these Sparks get you!? Well like ASOS, it works on a level system. With 3,000 Sparks, members get access to new season previews, while 5,000 Sparks give customers early access to Sales!
  • By the time you reach 14,000 Sparks you'll get invitations to events such as catwalk shows and if you reach 17,000 you will be given access to high-end events such as personalised styling sessions! - Bare in mind David Gandy models the underwear girls!!
  • So not only all of the above, but when you sign up to Sparks you get to choose a charity that M&S will donate to as you earn Sparks.

Finally from the moment you register your card online, you will receive 20% off offers for different store categories every couple of weeks, You receive an email when it's time to choose new offers and there's often additional perks depending on the time of year! See above the Easter email. You usually get to choose 2 out of a choice of 5 offers. Typically these are things like 20% off; bedding, count on us meals, pastries, 'food to go' range, wine or flowers to name but a few.
So there you have it, all you need to do is pick up a card in any store and register it online!

So, the final loyalty scheme that's worth thinking about is the Harvey Nichols Rewards App

This fab app boasts so many exciting benefits, and even if you don't usually shop in Harvey Nics you'll want to with this app! See below the beautiful imagery guide to the app!

Here's how the levels above work;

  • Silver is FREE
  • Gold is unlocked when you hit 250 points!
  • Platinum when you reach 5,000 points!
  • And Black will give you 16 amazing benefits when you earn 10,000 points (Could be a few years for me on that one!)

So that's my 3 favourites! Asos A-list, M&S Sparks and Harvey Nichols Rewards app!I hope you have all been encouraged to join one of them if not them all and start reaping the rewards that the retaillers have to offer their customers in return for your loyalty!

Happy Shopping!

Bedtime skincare routine! - because you need one

Evening all,
I'm going to start off by asking how many of you removed today's make up with a wipe tonight?
Guilty!?
We've all been there - spending the day rushing around, all you want to do is jump into bed and take your face off in one swift process - keeping one eye on the telly! Comical really, after we spend so long putting our make up on in the morning and taking care to moisturise and perfect our skin only to forget all of that 15 hours later!
Fear not though ladies, for years, I too have practiced this oh so easy wipe process, gasped at by 'MUAs' and the girls at the make up counters in department stores!  However I made it one of my New Years Resolutions to up the ante on my skincare routine & this was the most obvious place to start! I've kept it fairly quick still, I mean, if you don't make the time to 'contour' for work in the morning, there's no way you'll be sitting for 20 minutes enduring a 'nourishing avocado deep cleansing peel mask' every weekday night!
So here's my quick and easy 3 step guide to keeping your skin soft, glowing and healthy!;

  1. Eye make up remover - I recently learnt that mascara is really damaging to your lashes, especially if you wear it everyday, eye make up removers condition your lashes and encourage growth as well as being far less likely to accidentally pull out any lashes - which can often happen trying to get eye make up off with a wipe! Simply squirt the liquid on to a cotton wool pad and wipe away! I use No.7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make up remover purely because it's great quality for the price (£8.50 a bottle and often on offer in boots!) but as a treat I sometimes buy the Vichy Purete eye make up remover which is great for waterproof mascara and priced at £11. There is a huge range out there, varying in price and quality, if you're not sure it's for you but want to give it a try, Boots do their own brand one for about £2.50!                Alternatively see a full list of what brands Boots have to offer Here!
  2. Cleanser - Once your eyes have been attended to, it's time to give your skin a good cleanse! Cleanser's are brilliant, they get right in to your pores and flush out all of the days make up, oils and impurities in your skin. You also get fab cleansing tools now to ensure you are getting the best results! I don't actually have one but I've read great reviews of the Foreo-LUNA-Anti-Aging-Skincare-Device - got my eye on it, but as it's worth about a weeks rent I may need to settle for the £25 No.7 one! The cleanser I use is the No.7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser. This is applied straight on to my skin dry and massaged in little circles all over the face. I then leave it for a few minutes or alternatively you could continue to massage it in with a cleansing tool. After a few minutes I'll run my muslin cloth under warm water and use this to wipe away the cleanser, rinsing the cloth in between wiping each area of my face. Finally pat dry your face with a soft towel - honestly there won't be a make up stain in sight!
  3. Finally, Toner. - This is the quickest step of the lot! Again, using the cotton wool pads, squirt a the toner directly on to the pad and simply glide it across your face. This is an extra step to make sure all those pore impurities were removed by the cleanser, it also leaves your skin feeling clean and taught! I use Boots' own brand Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cleansing Toning lotion - it's specifically made to help prevent spots, so perfect for someone like me who naturally has combination/oily skin. It's super cheap too at £3.60 for a whole bottle! There is a fantastic Clarins toner for my skin type also but at £20 a bottle I have to be treating myself! So, final point on toner is that it should be worked in to both your evening and morning skincare routine for best results, do this right before you would apply moisturiser!
So that's it! Quick and easy and really leaves your skin feeling so much better than after baby wipes! It's worth noting that I absolutely will not go anywhere without my No7 Wipes and I am all for them being used as part of my make up removal routine! - Just not solely relied upon, simply because they don't do the job well enough on their own! All of the skincare products mentioned above come in a huge variety of skin types so if you are unsure what's best for you make sure you ask for help at the counter - Clinique, Clarins, No7, amongst others, all have brilliantly trained staff just waiting to help you with your skin care queries!
I hope this has enlightened at least a few of you to have a think about your evening skincare routine, do let me know if you found this helpful in the comments below or have any questions about the products I use!
Happy Cleansing!

H & M - What I loved & what I bought!

Morning all!
Hope you've had a lovely weekend in the sunshine! It really is starting to feel a bit warmer and brighter, and that means it's definitely acceptable to be building up your Spring wardrobe!
Which is exactly what I did in H&M yesterday! I was really impressed with some of the pieces in their Spring trend offering so thought I would share the bits I loved and the ones that made it to the till with me!
The first thing that caught my eye was this Khaki Tencel Shirt , it feels absolutely amazing, really light weight and easy wearing for this time of year. It's also part of H&M's 'Concious' range which ensures all materials used are fairly sourced and is great quality. It can be worn in lots of different ways within the grungy, festival style trend. I'm going to wear it buttoned with black skinnies and flats, undone with a white vest and light wash jeans and tucked in to a black leather skirt with heeled boots for a slightly more dressed up look!
It would also look really cool with some of the slouchy graphic vests and tees that H&M have within this trend.
So the next thing I bought was 2 of their basic Knitted Jumpers , these gorgeous knits are £12.99!! Which is amazing, they come in 6 colours; Red, White, Khaki, Black, Blush Pink & Navy. I bought the white and the blush pink and I can't wait to wear them through Spring and in to Summer - such a brilliant weight - they are a key transitional staple to have in your wardrobe!
While I was in the basics section I also picked up a lovely slouchy vest, it's not actually online but there were 2 colours in store; a black and a khaki. I bought the khaki one, again, just as a little basic to incorporate in to the festival trend, it was £5.99 - also from the concious range and is made from 100% recycled materials! Looking forward to wearing that one throughout the season with jeans and shorts for a nice casual, easy look.
H&M have a fab trend called 'Modern Craft' - it features lots of aboriginal style prints and lovely design details including pattern stitching on hem lines and embroidered faux suede. Check it out here! I also find H&M are a fantastic brand for accessible trends, their prices are really reasonable, making it easy to get your wardrobe ready for Spring without breaking the bank.
Go and check out their website or even better pop in to store and decide which of their fab collections is for you! There is also a fantastic 25% off one of your items when you sign up to their mailer - Sign up here!
I'd love to see what everyone else is loving, Tweet me what you've bought! - @thatfashioned

Midweek mag offers!

Well ladies, we've made it to Wednesday! The weekend is fast approaching! However, if, like me, you are needing a little boost on this wet and windy evening I've got just the ticket!
My top 5 magazine offers this week! This is something I've seen Martin Lewis do as a feature and I absolutely love the idea, so I'm adopting it for That Fashion Edit  on the basis that it's fabulous!  I've picked 5 of my fave glossies to share with you and why you need to pick them up this week!;

  1. Marie Claire magazine! First of all it comes in mini handbag size and also the gorgeous giant 'I'm at the hairdressers' size if you're going all out! This issue features a very glamorous Amy Adams (American Hustle) as the cover girl and a hilariously honest interview inside! There's also a brilliant piece on power dressing and some great transitional outfits you can wear now! So aside from the content, the reason I've chosen Marie Claire for this weeks top offers is because of the fabulous Nails Inc freebie! There are 4 vibrant colours to choose from. These polishes are usually £11 so with the mag for £4 your saving £7 on a new polish for Spring and getting the issue completely free!
  2. Glamour magazine! April's issue features Alexa Chung on the front cover! There's 678 ways to get your Spring wardrobe sorted as well as learning how to 'pop your colours like Alexa!' - any advice on how to be like Alexa Chung is always greatly welcomed in my book! In addition, Glamour have gone all out for their Spring issue promo, and teamed up with a brand called Balance Me. A multi award winning, natural and science led, British skincare brand. Check out their website here! There are 4 freebies to collect; the tinted wonder eye cream, a revitalising hand & body wash, a radiance face mask and a limited edition lip balm! As a package they are worth £41! And with Glamour being only £2 an issue you can get all 4 products for a fifth of the price! Oh and 4 glamour mags obviously ! Take them in to the office and make someone's day!
  3. Number 3 is lovely weekly; Look Magazine! The team at Look are offering 30% off at Gap for a limited time only! However you can also receive this offer by signing up to their mailer on the Gap website to redeem 30% off new lines! Sign up to redeem 30% off here! That said, they have a fab interview with cover girl Cheryl and all the help you need to find a dress for every occasion - especially if you are going to the races or have a Spring wedding coming up! They also feature a piece on how to wear stripes, which feature heavily in this seasons high street trends!
  4. This next one is a bit of a dream! What woman doesn't love 20% off ASOS!! That's the offer free in Elle magazine's April issue! They've also done a brilliant spread on high street trends you need to know about and Spring Fashion over all! If you liked some of my trends I mentioned from the weekend then this is the mag for you - the team at Elle have got it all covered!
  5. My final mag making it in to this weeks top 5 offers is Red magazine! It's always got such premium articles and recommendations so a really lovely one to have on the coffee table and have a flick when you've got some down time! It's usually £5 but this April issue is on special offer for just £2.50 so of you don't usually buy it for the price - nows the time to get involved! Bargain!
So that's all for this week! I hope there's at least one in there that you will enjoy having a read of and some lovely products to try out! I've already stocked up so will look forward to a bath with my new 'Balance me' body wash and night in painting my nails and flicking through the gorgeous pages of Spring fashion!

Spring Shopping Haul

It may have felt like the middle of Winter last week, but with the High Street launching their new SS16 ranges it was impossible not to get purchase-happy on Spring styles this weekend!
I visited Birmingham's bustling Bullring centre to suss out what's on trend for the season ahead.
I love this time of year for transitional pieces - light weight jackets & coats that you can wear with a chunky scarf and skirts & dresses wearable with tights - The high street has definitely got you
covered for this time of year or until our yellow friend in the sky makes an appearance at least!
My first point of call was River Island.
They have followed 3 of the key transitional trends.

The first  - That gorgeous chic nautical look is back; stripes, clean white lines, feminine shirts & neat blazers, pops of yellow and red & of course some gorgeous denim to tie your outfit in together.

The second; That fabulous safari/festival trend that has swept the High Street and incorporated key pieces from AW15's Boho/70's craze! (Great news for us girls on a budget - your suede button through skirt & dungaree dress are still bang on trend!)
This is the trend that is so accessible - get yourself a khaki bomber and your half way there! The collections feature a combination of suede & cord pieces, khaki,tan & beige palettes and endless pairs of 'essential' heels & sandals! I bought myself the gorgeous 'Rosine' suede peep toe boots which I posted on Instagram! I'm wearing them in the office today and they are a dream to wear! (Get them here!)

The final trend that I am loving from River Island is the True Blues collection! Again, the high street have gone in on denim this Spring and with denim skirts more on trend than ever there are so many lengths & styles to choose from! Dungarees are also having a moment for spring, whether its the classic full length leg, the shorts or the dungaree dress - they are everywhere! I bought a lovely black dungaree dress in Primark (which I will Insta this week!) and I am definitely on the look out for the perfect Spring pair in the coming weeks as the weather gets warmer! I did also buy some denim crops from Superdry this weekend which I shared on Insta - they were the Leila Crop Skinnies in Black - so comfy and a perfect  casual transitional piece to wear with espadrilles or converse.

My favourite purchase on Saturday was the gorgeous draped trench in Stone that I posted on today's #OOTD.
At £25 this beauty is my #Saturdaysteal! - Get yours here
